Kenya’s Ministry of Health reported that the country’s positivity rate stood at 1.2% Monday after 1,318 samples were tested with 16 returning positive.

The total number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 252,688 from a total of 2,675,023 cumulative tests conducted since March, 2020.

Kakamega and Meru counties posted 3 cases each with Nairobi and West Pokot making it to the top 5 for the day with 2 cases each.

The total number of deaths reported went to 5,260 with the Ministry reporting 3 new deaths.

81 patients have recovered from the disease with 71 from Home-Based Isolation and Care, while 10 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Total recoveries now stand at 246,355 out of whom 199,019 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 47,336 are from various health facilities countrywide.


As of Monday, a total of 4,944, 441 vaccines had so far been administered across the country. Of these, the total partial doses given are 3,513,683 while the total vaccination stood at 1,430,758.

The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is at 38.7% with the majority being males. The proportion of adults fully vaccinated is 5.3%.
