COVID-19, Kenya’s Positivity Rate Up To 5.9Pc As 283 Test Positive
Kenya recorded 283 new Coronavirus positive cases Thursday, bringing the total caseload to 103,615.
The new cases confirmed from a sample size of 4,822 tested translated to a 5.9pc positivity rate, with 1,254,018 tests conducted so far.
The Health Ministry also announced six more deaths during the same period pushing up the cumulative death toll to 1,807 since March 2020.
According to CS Kagwe, 277 more patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,153 patients are on Home Based Care.
42 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 21 of whom are on ventilatory support and 18 on supplemental oxygen while three others are on observation.
Another six patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with five of them in the general wards and one more in the High Dependency Unit.
66 patients have recovered from the disease Thursday.
